Cast

Alex Walters (Jacob) attended the University of California at Irvine and finished with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting. He has been a part of numerous theatrical productions at his alma mater as well as several distinguished theaters in Orange County (including the always controversial Rude Guerrilla theater company) and LA county (the classic Long Beach Playhouse).

He can be seen in numerous commercials (including McDonalds, AT&T, and Steak n’ Shake), and his foray into film began with short features such as Chope and blossomed into full-length film with his turn as nice guy Stuart in 2007′s critically acclaimed film, Rattle Basket. His future looks bright so keep an eye out for this young up-and-comer.



Candice Michele Barley (Haddy) developed a natural love for the bright lights and cameras since she was raised in a commercial photography studio run by her parents. Although her talents run the gamut from painting to design, her real love is acting and collaborating with others in telling a well-crafted story. Although originally from Southern California, Candice now lives in Houston, TX, and when she’s not filming, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

T. Lynn Mikeska (Jill) taught Acting, Improv, and Creative Dramatics at Boston Children’s Theater after earning her Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin. However, after her first real Nor’easter she hastily retreated back to Mother Austin. After a much loved run as Artistic Director of Operations with Shrewd Productions and a wonderful year on the Festival circuit with her short films “The Ballad of Friday and June” and “The Last Thing She Wanted”, she put whatever she could fit in her Honda and is currently living in Los Angeles, CA. She enjoys good art and good food, and her collection of comic books and action figures is surprisingly large for an adult.

Bo Keister (Tyler) has played many roles in life, but his true passion has always been within the world of film. He began his acting career in Wilmington, NC and, after spending the better part of a decade in Los Angeles, Bo returned to his home state of Virginia, where he currently resides with his family. He has appeared in numerous films, including “Remember the Titans”, “Immortal Island” and the soon to be released “Blue Ridge”, as well as commercials for Advance Auto, NASCAR, Office Depot and many more. His love for film and acting led him to open Actors Anonymous Acting Studio where he spends his evenings training young actors. Bo is thrilled to be playing the role of Tyler and is extremely proud to be a part of “Where I Begin”.

Elizabeth Connelly (Kristen) is an American actress, whose truthful artistic journey has led her to be featured in commercial, television and film works as well as national print advertising campaigns and magazines. While her main drive is film, classical theatre roles are profoundly dear to her.

She currently resides in Charlotte, NC where she is pursuing and ongoing scene study program and has dedicated her life to cinema. Her earthy upbringing, which has been full of world travel, contributes greatly to her love of acting and film and colors her work uniquely.

Lance E. Nichols (Patrick) is a native and resident of New Orleans.  He is a 30 year veteran with over 100 credits in film, television, and theatre.  Memorable roles include the Preacher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, D.A. Jeremiah Goodhusband in The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, and Hamilton Watkins in the upcoming feature Welcome to the Rileys with Kristen Stewart and James Gandolfini.  Lance can currently be seen as Dr. Larry Williams in the critically acclaimed HBO series Treme.  He is honored to be a part of Where I Begin.

Johnny McPhail (Ace) was born to play the role of Ace. McPhail currently resides in Oxford but was a native of Bruce, Miss. He began acting at age 50 and has been in such films as “Ballast,” and “Night of the Loup Garou,” as well as “Big Bad Love.” Johnny is a loving father and husband. As a storyteller and theatrical actor, McPhail delights audiences every year at the Tennessee Williams Festival as well as numerous other productions throughout Mississippi.

Cindy Hogan (Connie) was born in Los Angeles and raised in Southern California. She’s the mother of two productive, caring, never been arrested young men and claims that to be her HARDEST role. Her FAVORITE role is Wife to Mr. Blackwell. With numerous feature film credits, including the recently released Red Dirt Rising and Junction, as well as recurring roles in several television series, Veronica Mars, Invisible Man, Hunter and Fashion House. A Series regular on the ABC series PUSH, several movies of the week and hundreds of commercials her resume and experience is long. In 1996 and 97 SAG and AFTRA voted her “Member of the Year” for outstanding service for her coaching. In 2010 Cindy was voted the “coastie award” for best workshop of the year.

 

Carlisle Forrester (Theresa) is a native of Oxford.  She left Oxford to pursue more opportunities in Los Angeles and recently has moved to Austin, TX.  She recently starred in and produced the short film “Now Or Never” that was part of this year’s Cannes Film Festival and won Best Mississippi Film at the 2010 Oxford Film Festival.  Other work includes the independent feature “Fall Guy: The John Stewart Story.”  She’s also worked extensively in theatre and commercially.

Rebecca Adams (Angela)  was born and raised in North Florida.  She recently finished filming the independent film Fins and the television show Straight Talk where she was the teen sports reporter. She continues to hone her craft through ongoing private coaching and workshops.  Rebecca was a former competitive gymnast as well as a springboard diver. In addition to acting her current interests include guitar, singing, learningFrench and hanging out with her good friends!

Montana Byrd (Kylene) was born in South Carolina but moved to Mississippi six years ago with her family.  She is an accomplished dancer, actress, and model.  She has been in several local commercials. ̎ “Where I Begin” ̎ is her first speaking role.  Montana studies acting under Sharon Ward and Isaac Fowler in Jackson, Mississippi. She has also studied with Patrick Malone and Bob Luke in California, and Louis Falk in New York City.

Montana volunteers her time teaching dance for the CARE program in Charleston. Montana is represented by the Sharon Ward Agency in Jackson, Mississippi and the Louisiana Ward Agency in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Montana is fifteen years old.
